We are three third-year students in Digital Design & Development (Devine) at Howest in Kortrijk. For our bachelor’s thesis, we’re working with the City of Zwevegem on Transfo Intiem 2026, a free evening event on the historic Transfo site, the former power station in Zwevegem.
Date
Sat 12 Dec 2026
Time
17:00 – 22:00
Place
Transfo, Zwevegem
Theme
Adem · Breath
On 12 December, the site becomes a one-kilometre walking route of light, music, dance and installations. Each of the first two editions drew more than 1,500 visitors.
The challenge
Design an interactive installation that a five-year-old understands without instructions, and an 80-year-old still finds worth stopping for.
It has to work for groups and families at the same time, hold up during a winter evening, and fit an industrial building that already has a strong character of its own.
Why this blog
We started this blog to keep our process open. You’ll find our research, the ideas we chose and the ones we dropped, our prototypes, what we learned from testing with real people, and finally the build-up and the night itself.
